The unemployed man, carrying handcuffs and air guns, posing as a police officer, checked his ID card with Indian passers-by in the middle of the night, but when he was asked to show his commission card, he used his ID card as a document.

After the passer-by was seen through, the unemployed man still followed the other party and was eventually arrested by the police. He was charged with 3 counts of impersonating a public official, possessing imitation firearms and possessing handcuffs for illegal purposes.

The case was heard again in the West Kowloon Court today (28th). The defendant pleaded guilty, but the defense pleaded that he was just for a while.

Chief Magistrate Luo Quan said that he had brought props and was obviously conspired to commit a crime and was sentenced to 4 months in prison.

The defendant Xie Xuexian (31) admitted to posing as a police officer at the Nam Cheong Street Sitting-out Area at the junction of Nam Cheong Street and Cheung Sha Wan Road in Sham Shui Po on September 22 last year, carrying an air gun and handcuffs.

The case alleged that the defendant stopped the Indian victim and claimed to be a police officer, and responded in simple English.

The victim asked to see the warrant card when he was suspicious, and the defendant showed the card holder, but the identity card was inside.

The defendant later asked the other party to take out the wallet and was refused. He revealed his handcuffs and said that if he did not cooperate, he would take it back to the police station.

The victim saw his pants hung with a holster and drove away, but was followed by a panic and called the police.

After the police arrived, they found BB bullets and air gun gas from the defendant's backpack. No contraband was found during the search.

The defendant underwent medical examination and no mental disorder was diagnosed.
