Demonstrations and protests renewed for the fourth consecutive day in the city of Tripoli, northern Lebanon, to protest the difficult economic and living conditions.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the protesters gathered in Abdel Hamid Karami Square and at the main entrance leading to the Tripoli Brigades, while the security forces were trying to remove them from the Saraya.
A number of protesters also gathered in front of the Ministry of the Interior in Beirut, and the security forces closed all roads and entrances leading to them in front of cars and passers-by, and then the protesters headed to Riad El-Solh Square.
In Zahle, a number of young men closed the Faour Triangle of Kafr Zabad and the Al-Marj Road with burning tires, to protest against the deteriorating living and economic conditions.
The Lebanese army restored calm to the city of Tripoli in northern Lebanon today after a stormy night of confrontations between protesters and security forces.
Yesterday, the Lebanese army brought in military reinforcements and carried out a wide deployment in Abdel Hamid Karami Square (Al-Nour) and the surrounding streets after yesterday's clashes.
