During the meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Muhammad Hassan Qatana, the meeting demanded to provide support for livestock through the rehabilitation of poultry farms and help breeders to return again to production and rehabilitation of agricultural banks to re-grant loans to farmers and coordinate between the Ministries of Agriculture and Industry to establish projects concerned with the manufacture and export of agricultural production and rehabilitation of units Agricultural extension and strategic crop support.

Minister Qatana pointed to the importance of advancing the agricultural sector after the damage it suffered as a result of terrorism, through concerted efforts by everyone, achieving partnership with the private sector, and working to provide the necessary support for farmers and provide production requirements.

In a statement to the media, Qatana pointed out that Aleppo is a pioneer in the field of agriculture and the diversity of its plant and animal production and its richness in strategic crops, indicating that during the meeting with the agricultural family, the Ministry's aspirations for the development of the agricultural sector were discussed and the attendees' interventions were heard about the problems and difficulties that agriculture suffers, the most important of which are fertilizers, fodder, agricultural machinery and fuel Which was dealt with during the agricultural season in various forms, indicating that all that has been put forward will be addressed to push the agricultural sector in the governorate forward.

Engineer Radwan Harsouni, Director of Agriculture in Aleppo, presented during the meeting a brief explanation of the reality of agriculture in the governorate, pointing out that the plan for this year included planting an area of ​​203 thousand hectares of wheat, of which 170 thousand hectares were implemented, and by the implementation rate of 84 percent, reviewing the most important difficulties that hinder the agricultural sector, most notably the high prices of inputs Production and the lack of quantities of fuel and manpower.

The meeting was attended by the Governor of Aleppo, Hussein Diab, and a number of stakeholders in the agricultural sector.

In the College of Agriculture at the University of Aleppo, the Minister Qatana reviewed with the scientific cadres the most important proposals for the development of the agricultural sector, calling for interest in agricultural mechanization and employing it to harvest strategic crops and benefit from agricultural scientific master's and doctoral theses to combat diseases that affect crops and pay attention to the achievements of agricultural cotton research and the research that is presented and to prepare a project A cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Aleppo and the Ministry of Agriculture to cooperate and benefit from the expertise and research at the University of Aleppo to be employed in developing the agricultural sector.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Maher Karman, President of Aleppo University, and Dr. Abdel Mohsen Syed Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Aleppo.
