The president of Ile-de-France Mobilités reacts to the procedures of the manufacturer, excluded from the call for tenders for the purchase of 146 new trains

For a few days now, those around her confided that she was refraining from "taking out the sulphate".

This Thursday morning, Valérie Pécresse, president of Ile-de-France Mobilités, deemed "unacceptable" the delay in the renewal of trains intended for line B of the RER Ile-de-France, due to appeals filed by the manufacturer Alstom concerning the 'tender he lost.

"Today, there is a huge expectation from RER B travelers for these new equipment", highlighted Valérie Pécresse, also president of the Ile-de-France region, during the inauguration of the Porte-station. de-Clichy on the extension of line 14 of the Paris metro.

On Monday, the RATP and SNCF Voyageurs had reported a new appeal filed by the railway manufacturer Alstom, which prevented the signing of the order contract (scheduled for January 25) for 146 new trains intended for line B of the Paris RER at a consortium bringing together the Canadian manufacturers Bombardier Transport and the Spanish CAF.

The 2.56 billion euro contract aims to replace the rolling stock of the RER B, a major north-south axis of Ile-de-France which transports around one million people per day (excluding pandemic).

Bombardier and CAF were chosen on January 13 against Alstom, after the rejection of an appeal before the Paris administrative court initiated by the French group, which had already delayed the procedure last December because it considers that "the notification of rejection is incomplete ”.

“The call for tenders was conducted in strict compliance with all the rules,” said Valérie Pécresse on Thursday.

"We would expect behavior more concerned with travelers and the general interest"

“All these appeals are delaying, and my fear, and it is a fear shared by RATP, SNCF and Ile-de-France Mobilités, is that these appeals are really causing us to take a lot, a lot of delay on the order. , it would be to the detriment of travelers and it is not acceptable ”, she lamented.

"It is unacceptable especially vis-à-vis a manufacturer who is honored by the confidence of RATP, SNCF and IDF Mobilités to the tune of several billion euros" via orders placed with Alstom, esteemed Valérie Pécresse.

"We would expect a more concerned behavior of travelers and the general interest", she again denounced.
