The day before Christmas there was a terrible accident on the B471 near Maisach.
Five-year-old Marina and her grandmother Anne (66) died.
What remains is pain - but also gratitude.
Maisach
-
Marina was able to help her papa
with the
Christmas
mail this time.
She wrote the names of the recipients on the cards, he wrote the text.
At just five years old, the little girl knew a lot of letters, could count up to 30, was inquisitive and sociable.
In Maisach, where the family had only moved a few months earlier, she
had already made many new friends
in
kindergarten
.
"She always played her heart quickly," says Marina's mother Franziska Barth.
Accident on B471 near Maisach: grandma and granddaughter (5) dead - daycare children miss Marina
The other children miss
Marina
.
They talk about her, paint pictures of her.
Nobody can really understand that the girl with the
long blond hair
and the alert blue eyes will not come back.
She died in a traffic accident in which her
grandmother (66) was also
killed.
“The two had a very,
very close relationship,”
says Marina's father Steffen Barth.
His mother had supported the
young family
with
childcare right
from the start
.
“She came at least once a week, regardless of where we lived.” The 32-year-old is a Protestant pastor - moving is part of the job.
Marina and her two years younger sister Katja were born in
Munich-Grünwald
.
From there it went to Wartenberg (district of Erding) and finally to the
parish of
Olching-Maisach,
where Steffen Barth took over the second pastor's position in September.
So Marina learned early on to adapt to new circumstances.
That she was
only allowed to invite one child for her birthday
in
Corona times
, that she could
no longer visit
her best friend and her former
forest kindergarten group
in Wartenberg - that was the way it was.
There was not much shouting about it.
Life despite Corona: The family enjoyed the last few months - until the terrible accident
The family has been enjoying the time at home in the last few months, where dad took his old
Lego bricks
from the basement and there were always lots of books.
Grandmother Anne Barth was the expert
for
child-friendly reading material
.
The trained bookseller from Kuchen in Baden-Württemberg could also tell a lot about the world - she had lived with her husband in Hamburg and Berlin, in New York and Washington, in Flensburg on the Baltic Sea and most recently in Landshut.
Children were everything to her.
When her two sons were born, Anne Barth gave up her job.
Later she did volunteer work in
kindergarten,
where her handicraft mornings were soon small
highlights
- and she enjoyed her
role as a grandmother
.
Accident after visiting the grandparents: the parents' nameless pain
Shortly before Christmas
, the two granddaughters were once again
visiting
their
grandparents
for a few days
.
On December 23, the four were on their way back to Maisach when
the accident happened
on the
B471
that
tore
Anne Barth
from her life.
While the
grandfather
and the three-year-old Katja were not
seriously
injured, Marina had to be
reanimated
at the
scene of
the
accident
.
Her parents later found out that this succeeded at all.
“She was an incredible
bundle of energy and strength,”
says her mother.
“At that moment, she showed it one last time.” But the
injuries
were so severe that Marina
succumbed to
them the day after
Christmas
at the Großhadern Clinic.
Despite all the
nameless pain
, her parents are grateful that they were able to say goodbye to their
daughter
.
It is also important to them
to thank
the
first aiders and rescue teams
who
did their best
at the
scene of
the
accident
.
And with the
nurses and doctors
in Großhadern, who
carefully taught
the parents the
brutal truth
- that their daughter would
either not survive
the
consequences of
the
accident
or only with permanent impairments.
Above all, Steffen and Franziska Barth are grateful for the time they had with their
daughter
- even if it was far too short.
"She was just a great kid."
