The Waterfront Affairs Committee met today (28th). The Drainage Services Department briefed the members on two projects, including the reconstruction of the Kwun Tong Sewage Pumping Station by the Tsui Ping River, which will provide amusement spaces and footbridges to connect to the waterfront, and Dajiaozui Cherry Amusement space on the street rain drain.

Some members said that the project is welcome, but since the Kwun Tong project is far from the MTR station, it is hoped that the authorities will take into account the traffic connection.

The Drainage Services Department will build a new plant at the sewage pumping station near Wai Yip Street next to the Tsui Ping River in Kwun Tong, with a landscaped platform on top.

The Drainage Services Department introduced two projects at the meeting, including the construction of a new plant at the sewage pumping station near Wai Yip Street next to the Tsui Ping River in Kwun Tong, which will cover the existing pumping facilities and the proposed sewage conditioning facilities, and install ventilation and Odor control facilities.

The authorities will build a landscaped platform on the roof of the factory with a play space.

The space will be divided into 5 amusement areas, with a total of 16 amusement experiences, with themes of sunshine, sky, earth and water, so that children can touch nature.

There is also a plan to build a footbridge to connect to the waterfront.

The other project is the project above the box gutter on Cherry Street in Dajiaozui, which is adjacent to the Hoi Fai Road promenade.

The authorities intend to build amusement space on the open space, which is expected to be completed in 2023.

At the meeting, the members welcomed the project, but paid attention to the traffic problem.

One of the committee members and surveyor Lam Ka-fai said that due to the large area of the Kwun Tong project, it is estimated that many people will go there. However, due to the distance from the MTR station, I hope that the authorities will pay attention to the traffic conditions, such as setting up a bus stop.

He also mentioned in previous meetings that the Cyberport waterfront promenade is currently being cut off by the sewage treatment plant, and he hopes that the authorities can follow up so that the waterfront promenade can connect to the big mouth ring.

The project is close to Cuiping River.
