The three guarantor countries of the Astana track (Russia, Iran and Turkey) reaffirmed their commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, and the need for all parties to respect these principles.

In a statement today, the three countries affirmed their readiness to support the work of the Constitution Debate Committee through its continuous participation with delegations, the Syrian delegation, and the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Syria, Geir Pederson, as a facilitator, in order to ensure the effective and sustainable performance of the committee.

The statement indicated the need for the constitution discussion committee to work in a spirit of compromise and constructive participation without external interference and to implement programs of foreign countries so that the members of the committee can reach general agreement and obtain meaningful results ... The committee must be accepted and supported to the fullest extent by the Syrian people.

The joint statement confirmed that "consultations on the aforementioned issues will continue until the next meeting of the International Assembly within the framework of the Astana process / the fifteenth international summit of the Astana process / in Sochi on February 16 and 17."

In a joint statement, the heads of the guarantor states of the Astana process renewed in a joint statement following a videoconference meeting early last July to affirm their commitment to Syria's sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and integrity, and the continuation of cooperation until the final elimination of terrorism there, stressing their rejection of any separatist plans that violate Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The fifth round of the constitutional discussion committee meetings was held last Monday at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva with the participation of the national delegation and other delegations.
