2021-01-28T13:26:00.799Z

The hairdresser at home and his ex-mistress are suspected of having ambushed Patrick Isoird, whose body was found half-charred in an underground cavity in Sète in July 2014.

This Thursday, January 28, the Advocate General called for life imprisonment against Rémi C. and ten years of imprisonment against Audrey L., tried since January 18 by the Assize Court de l'Hérault for the assassination of Patrick Isoird.

During the summer of 2014, the body of the employee at the Sète hospital was found tied up and half-charred in an underground cavity located under Mont Saint-Clair (Hérault).

Hence the nickname under which the dossier is referred to in the press: the “bloody cave affair”.

Rémi C. denies the facts

Rémi C. and Audrey L. may appear under the same description of "murder" and incur the same sentence, life imprisonment, they have adopted radically opposed attitudes.

The first, who is in pre-trial detention, has been claiming his innocence since the start of the case, which he also reaffirmed during the hearing.

The second, which was released under judicial supervision in June 2020, admits having served as bait to lure Patrick Isoird into the cave.

But she assures that she did not know anything about the fate that awaited the forties, and that she did not attend the execution.

The mysterious death of Nadège C.

Investigators are convinced that Rémi C., a hairdresser at home in Sète, attacked the victim because the latter had had an affair with his wife Nadège in 2009. The mother of the family was found hanged just after confessing to Rémi C. for having cheated on him during a party with colleagues.

At the time, the hypothesis of suicide had been adopted, although that of the intervention of a third party could not however be completely ruled out.

The investigation was reopened after the “bloody cave” case broke, and Nadège C.'s family filed a complaint with a civil party.

Here again, Rémi C. claims his innocence.
