CDU politician Michael Hoffmann: His formulations in the social networks are "somewhat exaggerated"

The CDU city council chairman in Magdeburg, Michael Hoffmann, is causing outrage in Saxony-Anhalt's state politics with attacks on the Chancellor's Corona policy.
Hoffmann compared Angela Merkel again this week with the highest party organ of the SED in the GDR.
In a post on Facebook on Tuesday morning, he wrote: “It's enough now.
That reminds me very badly of the communist system.
Was there still any funds left from the Central Committee of the SED?
FREEDOM instead of Merkel. ”He also shared an article that said Merkel said the corona pandemic had slipped away from the government.
He had previously posted a similar post on Facebook, which caused a sensation within the CDU Saxony-Anhalt.
In it he shared a video on the Russian state broadcaster Russia Today, in which the virologist Christian Drosten can be seen.
Hoffmann commented: “I don't believe a single word that guy anymore.
In addition, it is controlled by the Merkel Central Committee. "
He also called on Facebook, SPD, Greens and left-wing politicians who want a red-red-green government to be brought to a political court. He also warned against an "anti-Christian infiltration of Turks and others" who did it to prevent.
"A little exaggerated"
Hoffmann told SPIEGEL that he admitted that his formulations in the social networks were "a little exaggerated".
However, he sees it in such a way that the Chancellor and the virologist Drosten would spread "fear and horror".
Hoffmann justified the comparison with the SED central committee by pointing out that, for example, he was not sure whether the election of Armin Laschet as the new federal chairman of the CDU was "so random".
He stands for a different course in the party and would have liked Friedrich Merz as the new party leader.
He is now expressing this on Facebook.

Hoffmann is traded as one of the possible CDU candidates for the election of the mayor in Magdeburg.
SPD Mayor Lutz Trümper wants to give up his post after 20 years this year.
The CDU expects chances to inherit him.
CDU mayor Klaus Zimmermann and the liberal CDU district chairman and member of the state parliament Tobias Krull are also possible candidates.
"Mr. Hoffmann himself has to know how he behaves on such platforms," Krull told SPIEGEL.

Hoffmann's failures cause outrage among the other parties.
"Everyone comes out as best they can," said Green Country Manager Sebastian Striegel.

He was also a steward in a neo-Nazi demo in 2011 and only admitted this during the course of the affair.
Finally he resigned from the CDU.
