This is one of the revelations of this Vendée Globe.
Benjamin Dutreux crossed the Vendée Globe finish line this Friday at 10:05 am after 81 days, 19 hours, 45 minutes and 20 seconds of a great race.
The skipper of Omia - Water Family finished 9th, a nice performance for his first round-the-world trip on a 2007 boat without foils.
He notably animated the start of the race with Jean Le Cam, who arrived before him on Thursday evening and then reclassified to 4th place.
Aged 30, the Vendéen finished 1 day and 16 hours after the winner.
