" who was accused of assassination, attempted assassination and threat of death, was sentenced Friday by the Yvelines Assize Court to a 30-year prison sentence, with a security period of 20 years.

At 37, Malik Abadia was found guilty of murdering his former brother-in-law before injuring two other people during a three-day violent outing in May 2017 in Plaisir et Trappes, in the Yvelines.

He is also found guilty of threatening his former partner with death.

Impassive on reading the verdict, he announced his desire to appeal.

The decision is open to criticism,

” his lawyer, Frédéric Landon, told AFP.

The Advocate General had requested a life sentence with a security period of 20 years against him, recalling "

the psychosis that settled in the Yvelines department

" between the facts and the arrest of the 'accused, almost three weeks later.

Despite his presence at the scene of the murder shortly before, Malik Abadia proclaims his innocence and claims to be the victim of a conspiracy.
