For months, residents and staff of the retirement homes had lived in constant fear that the corona virus would find its way into their facility.
With the vaccinations they hoped to be able to breathe a sigh of relief.
But things turned out differently in some homes.
Fürstenfeldbruck - "We were
corona-free
for
a year
, we took extremely strict measures for this." This explains Petra Diekmann, group management of the geriatric care department at Diakonie Oberbayern West.
But in the end, neither the masks introduced before the government orders - and later the FFP2 mask requirement - could keep the virus out of the

Olching: Corona outbreak after vaccination in the nursing home - six employees and 18 seniors infected
After the
second vaccination
,
employees
in the home
tested positive
.
Six employees and 18 senior citizens are now
infected
with the
virus
.
"At the moment, nobody can say whether you were infected before or after the second vaccination," explains Petra Diekmann.
The good news:
Seniors
who have
already been vaccinated and tested positive
mostly have no or only minor
symptoms
.
That coincides with the observations of Rainer Bertram, district chief of the Red Cross.
The BRK carries out the vaccinations in the district.
The full
vaccination protection
does not come into effect until a week after the second vaccination, according to Bertram.
However, the vaccination probably prevents
serious disease progression
beforehand
.
At least that shows the current development.
In the meantime, the vaccination team in all
retirement homes was
in the circle for the first vaccination.
The second round in the homes should also be completed by February 5.
Fürstenfeldbruck: After the corona outbreak in old people's homes - facilities under quarantine
There is a
quarantine
in the facilities with infected people
.
Visits are not possible.
After that, the previously applicable
hygiene rules come
into force again.
The Curanum in Germering and the Josefstift in Fürstenfeldbruck also got hit.
In December, Minister Huml
celebrated
the
official start of vaccination in Bavaria in
front of a large press
presence at the
Curanum
.
A total of 44 residents of retirement homes with Covid-19 died in the district during the pandemic.
It is currently being checked whether the current infections are the particularly dangerous
new mutations of
the virus.
Fürstenfeldbruck: Clinic places corona-positive patient with risk patient - she has already been vaccinated twice
It's been over a week since Karl-Heinz Ahner from Eichenau was admitted to the Bruck Clinic.
The 78-year-old would probably be home again, but instead ended up in quarantine.
Because a
patient
who was
corona-positive
was
put in his room
at the hospital
.
Karl-Heinz Ahner is a
high-risk patient
and is
looked after
by a nursing service at home.
He wears a tracheostoma, a cannula in his throat, to get enough air.
Because there was bleeding there, he had to go to the hospital late last Friday evening.
"He was immediately
tested
for
Corona there
," reported his wife Dorothea (79).
The test was negative.
Corona in Fürstenfeldbruck: Clinic places infected patient with risk patient - "more than a mess"
After the problem with the cannula was fixed, the 79-year-old hoped her husband would come back home earlier this week.
But when she
called
the
hospital
on Tuesday
, she was in for a
shock
.
“The doctor said my husband was doing well under the circumstances, but something had happened.
A corona-positive patient was placed in his room. ”Now Karl-Heinz Ahner is in quarantine in the clinic and will probably have to stay there until February 8th.
“It's more than a mess,” his wife grumbles.
At the request of the daily newspaper, the clinic announced that a patient with an emergency doctor was
admitted
for
trauma surgery
on Sunday, January 24th
.
The woman showed a
vaccination certificate
- she had already been vaccinated against Corona twice.
Nevertheless, a smear was taken by default.
However, since a positive result was not expected, the patient was accommodated on the IMC ward in Karl-Heinz Ahner's room.
"There are several very large rooms there with a patient distance of over two meters," emphasizes the clinic.
Surprisingly, the accident patient's smear turned out to be positive.
She was transferred to the
corona isolation
ward.
Karl-Heinz Ahner was quarantined "just to be on the safe side".
His corona tests are still negative to date.
While the hairdressers are closed in lockdown, the hair of the air base soldiers is legally groomed.
Because civilian employees are also among the customers in the Bundeswehr area, the outrage is great.
