According to a press report by the Geretsried police, an 80-year-old man from Bad Tölz was on the road with his Opel on the B11 in the direction of Königsdorf around 7.30 a.m.
In the area of the so-called Hollywood curve, the senior got his car on the opposite lane for reasons that are still unknown.
There his car collided head-on with the Opel belonging to a 67-year-old Geretsrieder.
The federal road had to be completely closed
The alleged cause of the accident suffered serious injuries in the collision.
Geretsrieder and his 58-year-old passenger were slightly injured in the collision.
Both vehicles suffered an economic total loss, the total property damage is around 35,000 euros.
During the initial treatment of the injured, the accident record by the police and the recovery of the two cars, the federal road had to be completely closed.
This led to significant obstacles in the morning rush hour.
According to the police, the Geretsried volunteer fire department, three ambulances and an emergency doctor were on duty.
