There is a new face in the Geretsried City Council.

Ann-Kathrin Güner is replacing Dominik Irmer, who left the committee at his own request.

Geretsried - It was a bit like the trip to Jerusalem: At the meeting of the city council on Tuesday, several elected officials moved a few chairs further.

In times of the corona pandemic, it was of course thoroughly disinfected in between.

The trigger for the change of place was Dominik Irmer (Free Voters), who, as reported, resigned his seat on the city council.

"I'm very sorry, but I have to take this step," he said at the meeting.

Professionally, in his management position, he sometimes has to work ten hours a day, and he also wants to be there for his family.

“I noticed that it was getting worse and worse to prepare for the meetings,” said the 41-year-old.

Mayor Michael Müller extensively praised Irmer's work in the city council, to which he was a member for over twelve years.

Irmer has committed himself with passion and a sense of proportion for the good of the city.

"You were at the forefront of decisive developments with which the city can score today," said the town hall chief.

Irmer always fought with verve and expertise for his goals and contributed to a good working atmosphere in the city council.

“On behalf of the City Council and personally, I wish you all the best for your new life, even if we regret your departure.

Politics not only needs programs, but also faces. "

Having received a certificate and a “survival package”, Irmer took the opportunity to say a few last words.

He appreciated that the city council always worked well and harmoniously.

"We discussed the matter 95 percent," said the 41-year-old.

This is also important in the future, as times will be difficult again.

“Despite all the emotionality that the topics bring with them, I recommend that the city council continue to discuss on a factual level.

I would like to share that with you, ”said Irmer.

According to the election result, Manfred Freiseisen would have moved up for Irmer.

The 78-year-old waived in favor of Ann-Kathrin Güner.

Müller swore in the new city councilor and swore her on the current and upcoming issues.

He focused on the new indoor swimming pool, the renovation of the Adalbert-Stifter-Mittelschule, the new buildings for both midday care, the creation of living space, the new city center as well as the extension of the S-Bahn and the relocation of the B11.

The city's traffic concept must also be further developed and cooperation with Wolfratshausen continued.

"A city council does not make decisions alone, but it is an important source of inspiration," said Müller.

There was applause for Güner and a large coffee cup for long meetings.

Since the seating arrangements in the corona-related alternative quarters in the council chambers are regulated according to the number of years in office, Güner takes the place of Felix Leipold, who in turn takes the chair of Heiko Hawla.

The latter will sit in the front row in the future, as he will chair the parliamentary group of the FW / FDP from Irmer.

The composition of the committees will also change.

Güner is now a member of the development and planning committee.

Hawla takes over the seats in the main and finance committee as well as in the wastewater association.
