Grigny: 8 years in prison for knocking Albert, 29, with a bottle

Detained for 26 months, the accused will spend a few more years in prison.

This Friday afternoon, the Assize Court of Essonne in Évry found him guilty of repeated violence committed on November 11, 2018 in Grigny.

Violence which resulted in permanent disability in the victim who lost one eye and whose other was barely saved.

For these facts, Carlos, 25, was sentenced to eight years in prison, including three years with a probationary suspension with obligation to take care of his alcohol level, to work and to reimburse the victim for his damage.

During this evening at Square Surcouf in Grigny 2, Albert, 29 years old had interposed in a fight between the accused and two "little ones" of the city.

He had pushed Carlos away.

No doubt annoyed, the latter, who was drunk and very angry, had picked up an empty glass bottle of vodka and threw it in the face at Albert.

The bottle had exploded, shattering the bones of his nose and shards of glass had stuck in his eyes.

Doctors were unable to do anything for the left eye, which had to be removed and replaced with a prosthesis.

The right eye was saved, but the victim suffers from loss of accommodation, glare and sees poorly when it is dark.

"It was hell, hell," said Albert at the helm.

I was put in a 48 hour coma for the pain.

When I woke up I couldn't see anything.
