An explosion occurred in Hung Hom.
At about 0:49 am today (30th), a loud explosion broke out in a hotel at No. 83 Wuhu Street.
Police officers arrived and found that a window of the hotel had fallen onto the pedestrian pavement. Later, in a room on the upper floors of the hotel, a male wounded was found. He was awake at the time and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.
After preliminary investigation by the police, it was suspected that the victim was killed in a hotel room by burning charcoal in a portable LPG stove, but an explosion was triggered during the period.
Sources at the scene said that the explosion was powerful at the moment of the incident. In addition to the entire window of the house shattered and the window frame fell onto the street, the door of the adjoining room was also damaged. Fortunately, no one was injured or caused a fire.
The police classified the case as "attempted suicide" and are investigating the incident.
The victim was sober and unobstructed and sent to hospital for treatment.
