"We need to vaccinate at least 70% of the population to achieve what we call herd immunity and that will take a few months," says Dr. Jarbas Barbosa, deputy director of the Pan American Health Organization in an interview with Andrés Oppenheimer.
According to Barbosa, although they have already started using the vaccine in Latin America, they are very small amounts for health professionals on the front line and no one should lower their guard against the virus.
