Since the beginning of the year, the Nantesbuch Foundation has had a new name and is now called the “Art and Nature Foundation”.

The two locations in Nantesbuch and Bad Homburg as well as the program design are thus brought together under one roof.

Bad Heilbrunn

- entrepreneur Susanne Klatten founded the foundation in 2012.

The name Nantesbuch refers to the area of the former agricultural estates in Nantesbuch and Karpfsee in the municipality of Bad Heilbrunn.

After a long renovation and expansion phase, the so-called Long House in Karpfsee was inaugurated in 2017.

Then the event program, which deals with the topics of art and nature in a wide variety of ways, got going.

In recent years, the offer, which also attracts many interested people from the far surrounding area, has established itself.

With prominent guests, for example at the “Moosbrand” literature festival, the work became known nationwide.

At the same time, the foundation is dedicated to landscape conservation and, for example, is renaturing areas on the extensive area.

Susanne Klatten is also the founder of the Altana Cultural Foundation.

It maintains the Sinclair House Museum in Bad Homburg.

Here you can see alternating exhibitions that also deal with the subjects of art, nature and the relationship to people.

The Sinclair House Museum became part of the Nantesbuch Foundation in 2017.

Now both are combined in the “Art and Nature Foundation”.

"The amalgamation of the two locations was not transparent and no longer corresponded to our structure," says press officer Anke Michaelis.

At both locations, both in Bad Heilbrunn and Bad Homburg, the aim is to have a regional impact.

The new name of the foundation now clearly shows the field of activity.

At both locations, the foundation offers “spaces and formats for sensual experience and interdisciplinary engagement with art and culture as well as nature and landscape”.

They want to continue to "give impulses for shaping society".

The non-profit foundation is based in Bad Heilbrunn.

It employs 48 people, 35 of them in Nantesbuch.

Incidentally, there is no short-time work there.

The program is currently being planned - not only for this year, but also for other projects in the years to come.

"We want to try to start the program again soon," says Michaelis.

Digital projects will now be the focus, but will also be part of the range of events in the future.

"We have a lot of plans." However, the offers should not be based on "just putting a video online".

The “Dawn Chorus” project, which collects bird songs from all over the world and combines them in a large bird choir of science and the arts, is to be continued and expanded.

It was initiated at the first corona lockdown in cooperation with “Biotopia Munich” and was very well received.

"We are now working on an app," says Michaelis.

The theme year 2021 is entitled “Determination”, details are to be presented shortly.

A digital “journal”, more precisely a kind of blog, is to accompany the work.

You can already see a first impression on the new homepage.

“There are plans for little highlights across the board, from recipes to philosophical essays,” explains Michaelis.

In the past few years, the activities took place almost exclusively in and around the Lange Haus in Karpfsee.

The area also includes the hamlet of Nantesbuch, a short distance from Karpfsee.

Here, for example, the permaculture garden and stables are located (we reported).

The Hofgut should slowly be further developed so that a "Campus Art and Nature" is created.

"But we are still in a very early planning phase here."
