The young Senegalese Diary Sow, a student in France whose disappearance at the beginning of the year had put her country in turmoil, returned to Senegal, the local press reported on Friday (January 29th).

", the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Serigne Mbaye Thiam, who lives in Dakar, headlined the newspaper "
Rewmi Quotidien
", confirming information from the Senegalese news site PressAfrik.
Close to the young girl, Mr. Thiam went to Paris last week and "
accompanied
" her on her return to Senegal on Wednesday January 27.
Asked by AFP, the Senegalese authorities and Mr. Thiam refused to comment.
The 20-year-old student enrolled in preparatory class at the prestigious Parisian high school Louis-Le-Grand did not show up for the resumption of classes on January 4, which did not look like her according to her relatives.
Her disappearance was reported on January 7 and Senegalese student circles mobilized to find her.
An investigation was first opened in France for "

, before the thesis of voluntary departure was privileged.
She said she left of her own free will to take "
a little break to find (her) spirits
", according to exchanges published by Mr. Thiam.
Monday, January 25, the Senegalese consulate in Paris confirmed that she was safe and sound.
