The General Secretariat of Communication of the Presidency of Ecuador reported this Saturday that the presidential plane "had a mechanical failure" shortly after leaving Washington, United States.
The incident forced an emergency landing.
According to the statement, President Lenín Moreno and all the occupants who were on board are fine.
The Ecuadorian president arrived in Washington on January 26 and held various meetings on economic issues, foreign policy and the covid-19.
