The EELV MEP Yannick Jadot, probable candidate for the ecological primary of September, announced on Saturday January 30 to launch an "
ideas platform
" focused on the presidential election of 2022. "

Asked about his possible presidential candidacy, he simply replied: “
I'm preparing for it.
I think it's time for ecology
”.
But while the pandemic is regaining in intensity in France and Europe, "
this is not the time for applications,
" assured Yannick Jadot.
The former head of the 2019 European list will make a solemn declaration at a press conference next Wednesday in order to shell out his first proposals, said his entourage to the press.
“
I want to go green, because we cannot have an economy that continues to deforest and generate pandemics and contributes to climate change,
” Yannick Jadot said on Saturday.
He said he wanted in particular to make aid to companies conditional on environmental, social and gender equality criteria.

provide answers on public transport, the relocation of the economy, public services, housing, or the organization of work
", he added.
The primary of the environmental pole, which includes EELV and several other small parties including Generation Ecology, Cap 21 and Generations, will be held in September.
For now, only the former number 2 of the Sandrine Rousseau party has officially declared itself, but the candidacies of Mr. Jadot and the mayor of Grenoble Eric Piolle are little doubt.
