He just posted the petition on the change.org website.
Champion of “made in France”, the former deputy Yves Jégo is riding a new battle horse: fighting against what he calls
“free washing”
.
With this petition, he seeks to obtain the vote of a law prohibiting the use of the flag of the Republic on products that are not made in France.
He also wrote to all MPs and Senators to raise awareness.
Currently, a French company can easily hang a tricolor flag on its products even if they come from China or elsewhere.

In such a case, the consumer code does not consider that there is deception
.
"It is in a way the original counterfeit"
, nevertheless believes Yves Jégo.
The ban on the French flag on "made in China" would clarify things.
"It is a common sense approach that will limit deception and protect national production," he
explains in the petition presentation note.
It's a simple measure that costs nothing and can bring in a lot for employment in our factories. ”
In 2011, Yves Jégo founded the Pro France association to promote the Origine France Garantie label.
In 2014, when he was a deputy for Seine-et-Marne, he succeeded in passing an amendment integrated into the Macron law and banning the tricolor flag on imported products.
"This advance was unfortunately rejected then by the Senate"
, he regrets.
And to recall that Switzerland has already adopted a similar measure to protect “Swiss Made”.
