Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to shorten his planned visit to the Gulf, which is planned for another ten days, a senior official said tonight (Sunday).
According to the same source, instead of flying for three days to Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Bahrain, he will fly for a three-hour emergency visit that will include one meeting in Abu Dhabi with the UAE regent and acting ruler Muhammad bin Zayed.
Sources close to the prime minister explained the reason for the shortening of the visit to the tight closure and the state of the disease.
"Doing only what is obligatory - the meeting with the regent," they said.
The flash visit comes after two postponements in the last months of a visit to the Gulf, which is expected to take place on February 9th.
This will be the first ever public and official visit by an Israeli prime minister to the United Arab Emirates.
At the end of December, Netanyahu postponed his trip to the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, which was scheduled to take place in the first week of January.
The reason for the postponement was the government's decision on a third closure due to the increase in morbidity.

This was the second time in a month that Netanyahu's trip to the Gulf was postponed a few days before it was scheduled to take place.
At the end of November, Netanyahu's trip to Abu Dhabi and Manama, scheduled for the first week of December, was canceled.
The reason for the cancellation then was a request from the Bahrain government.
Following the cancellation of Netanyahu's visit, the visit of Foreign Minister Ashkenazi was also canceled.
The fact that Netanyahu's visit to the Gulf has been repeatedly postponed is delaying all ministerial trips to the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
Netanyahu ordered all government ministers not to fly to these two countries until he visited there himself.
In addition, the first date set for Netanyahu's visit is that the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain also announced that there will be no visits by Israeli ministers until Netanyahu's visit.
