The Oberlandcard is in the starting blocks.

30 companies have already registered for the bonus payment system in the Miesbach district.

Now there is still a discount campaign.

Miesbach / Landkreis

- In the middle of lockdown, advertising for paid membership is not easy.

The location marketing company (SMG) Landkreis Miesbach is making this experience with the introduction of its Oberlandcard.

Regional manager and project manager Florian Brunner is all the more relieved that, despite the uncertain situation for many business owners, 30 companies have already joined Germany's first district-wide bonus payment system.

In order for this number to grow significantly by the start of March 15th, SMG has come up with a discount campaign.

From March up to and including May, SMG pays the participation fee of EUR 24.95 per month for all partners who are involved in the introduction.

"We want to reward those who have been there from the start for their trust and convince those who are still undecided," explains Brunner.

But the SMG does not only want to win this through the price of the Oberlandcard, but also through the long-term benefit for local retailers.

The bonus system "is intended to inspire people in the Miesbach district to shop locally and create awareness of what makes up a significant part of the quality of life in the region: small shops, a wide range of local supplies and regional products," says the SMG.

The Oberlandcard partners should become more resilient through the sales-promoting effect and be able to hold their own against competition on the Internet and wholesale.

As reported, the Oberlandcard is a bonus point card that can be used to collect points when shopping in the participating shops.

These in turn can be redeemed for discounts.

When giving gifts, however, the Oberland voucher is used.

And the employers in the district are also part of the bonus payment system.

Anyone who pays tax-free benefits in kind to their employees - for example in the form of a fuel or online shopping voucher - can in future book them on the Oberlandcard.

And so invest directly in the Miesbach district as an attractive place to live and work, emphasizes the SMG.

At the start there is the Oberlandcard exclusively in the Miesbach district.

In the long term, however, according to the SMG, an expansion to all districts in the Oberland is planned.

The plans are already more specific for the neighboring district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen.

This is already closely involved in the project.

Brunner tries all the more to make the start of the bonus payment system a real success story.

Lockdown or not.

Info event

On Tuesday, February 2, at 11 a.m., the SMG invites everyone interested to an online information event on the Oberlandcard.

The appointments last about an hour.

Registrations can be made online or by email to pk@smg-mb.de.
