We spoke with doctors in the region, some who support the use of ivermectin against covid-19 and others who distrust its effectiveness. This cheap and widely available antiparasitic medicine is dividing the medical community during the pandemic. The truth is that although there is no solid scientific basis either as a treatment or as a prevention, the sale of this product has exploded in Latin America. While there is also not enough evidence to say that it doesn't work, the doctors we consulted insist that everyone should ask their doctor before taking ivermectin.
