The Lebanese army has arrested 17 people who participated in the riots that took place in Tripoli during the past days.
The army command said in a statement that “a patrol from the Army Intelligence Directorate arrested 17 people for rioting, sabotaging and encroaching on public and private property and throwing Molotov cocktails at the security forces and suspected participation of a number of them of burning the municipality building and throwing grenades at the Serail,” indicating that the detainees will be referred To the judiciary after the end of the investigations with them, while the investigations will continue to find out the rest of those involved and arrest them.
More than a hundred people were injured in clashes between protesters and security forces in Tripoli, while the Lebanese army announced the restoration of calm in the city and the arrest of several people in connection with the events.
