Eching -

The municipality of Eching has had a well-functioning business relationship with the BEG since it was founded in April 2013.

Eching was even the first municipality to join the BEG as a member.

Two thirds of the district municipalities are now included.

As of now, the citizens' energy cooperative has 733 memberships, including 40 private individuals and companies from Eching.

The local council unanimously gave the green light for the new PV system - the largest that BEG has planned so far.

The system, with a total of 1077 modules on the two roof surfaces of the SCE tennis hall, is designed for an output of around 410 kWp and is expected to deliver 370,000 kilowatt hours of electricity, which roughly corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of 250 people.

At the same time, the considerable amount of 130 tons of CO2 can be saved.

Solar panels are arranged one above the other like scales

So that the large module surfaces do not pose a risk from roof avalanches, the rows of solar panels are offset in height and arranged one above the other like scales.

The discounted, self-generated electricity from the SCE's tennis department can be used on site for personal use.

The feed-in tariff into the grid is 6 cents / kWh.

The exact conditions are set in the lease agreement between the association and the municipality, informed Mayor Sebastian Thaler.

The BEG intends to invest around 350,000 euros in the project.

“We won't get rich in this way,” said managing director Andreas Henze at the council meeting.

There are no costs for the community in setting up the facility.

According to Henze, this also applies to their dismantling and disposal after 20 to 25 years.
