The 43-year-old Casey hadn't won since the 2019 European Open more than a year ago.
He edged South African Brandon Stone (-13) and Scotland's Robert MacIntyre (-12), whose hopes were dashed Sunday by a series of four bogeys in a row, halfway through.
Paul Casey took the lead of the Dubai Desert Classic on Saturday after the third round. The Englishman had already won trophies in the United Arab Emirates with successes in Abu Dhabi in 2007 and 2009. This triumph in Dubai, his 15th on The European Tour places him tied for title counts with 2018 European Ryder Cup team captain Thomas Bjorn and current Padraig Harrington.
On Sunday, Casey also won twenty years after his first title.
“It's very special,” he said.
I feel like I've found my youth. ”
