in the
Bavarian Alps
.
Above 1,600 meters, the main danger of drifting snow, said the Avalanche Warning Service Bavaria.
The weight of a single skier could trigger so-called snow boards.
The
avalanche warning level
was therefore 3 out of 5 on Saturday.
On steep slopes
, avalanches up to the middle elevations could resolve themselves due to the rain in the Alps.
In the past few days, it had rained widespread in the Free State, for high altitudes in the Allgäu Alps, the German Weather Service (DWD) had warned of heavy rain and thaw.

The
situation in Bavaria
is still tense.
In numerous Bavarian regions the water has already overflowed and flooded streets and paths.
The north (i.e. all of Franconia) and parts of the Upper Palatinate, but also the south along the Alps, is particularly affected.
Flood warning level
three (second highest) of the Bavarian flood
news service is currently in force
for the regions: Bamberg district, Lichtenfels district, Kulmbach district, Coburg district and Landshut district.
And the spook is not over yet.

(DWD) continues to warn of partly severe thaws.
Until late at night on Sunday, rainfall in the low mountain ranges (measured since Thursday) of up to 70 liters per square meter is possible.
In the Alps, the

of “storm-like quantities” of 100 l / m² - in the Oberallgäu even locally up to 180 l / m².
During the day, however, the rain retreats more and more towards the south.

They are between two degrees in the Franconian Forest and eleven degrees in the Chiemgau.
