Three Russian policemen were injured today as they dispersed, disturbing public order after they gathered in an unauthorized demonstration organized by supporters of politician Alexei Navalny in St. Petersburg.
Russia Today website quoted a Russian security source as saying in a statement: “The General Directorate denies that the police use special means such as light bombs, pepper gas and tear gas in the face of violators of public order,” indicating that three policemen were physically assaulted while performing their duties in Petersburg and one was arrested Aggressors.
The source added that “the security services arrested a number of demonstrators in the square of the three stations in Moscow at the end of the protest activities.” A Russian police officer was injured earlier today after he was assaulted during an unauthorized demonstration of Navalny's supporters in St. Petersburg.
Similar demonstrations took place in some Russian cities on January 23, when the Russian authorities confirmed that Western countries bear the responsibility for inciting them, especially the United States, whose embassy in Moscow has published data about unauthorized demonstrations and their locations.
