The fight in Corona:

2,000 vaccines from a modern company, out of the 5,000 doses approved by the political echelon over the weekend, were delivered today (Monday) as the first pulse to medical staff in the Palestinian Authority.

The vaccine doses were delivered this morning at the Beituniya crossing in accordance with the recommendations of Defense Minister Bnei Gantz and the Coordinator of Government Operations in the Occupied Territories.

Over the past weekend, we reported in "Israel Today" that this week thousands of vaccines against Corona will be transferred from Israel to the Palestinian Authority.

Details about the transfer of vaccines to the PA were confirmed by a senior Ramallah official, who said the expected amount was between 5,000 and 7,000 vaccine doses intended for Palestinian medical teams.

As mentioned, the PA has a limited amount of vaccines due to various delays in the supply of the Russian vaccine Sputnik 5. As mentioned, the delivery of vaccines from Russia was supposed to reach the PA last week, but at this stage, the arrival of vaccines from Russia has been delayed and it is still unclear when they will be delivered.

As you may recall, as early as mid-December, the state admitted that it had passed 100 Pfizer vaccines to the benefit of Palestinian Authority medical teams and an additional 100 doses had been transferred as the second dose.

The state's confession came in response to a petition that the family of soldier Hadar Goldin, whose body is being held in the Gaza Strip by the Hamas terrorist organization, submitted to the High Court a request not to transfer vaccines to the PA until information is obtained regarding the bodies of the hostages held in Gaza.
