US President Joe Biden on Monday (February 1) called on the Burmese army, which carried out a coup and arrested Aung San Suu Kyi, to return power "

", threatening to impose sanctions on the country.

The international community must speak with one voice to demand that the Burmese army immediately surrender power,
" Biden said in a statement.
The tenant of the White House also announces an "
immediate
" review of the sanctions that have been lifted over the past decade, threatening to put them back in place.
