The Ministry of Health today (Monday) joins the position of the World Health Organization, which states that vaccines against the corona virus can be given to pregnant women, at all stages.

This is after the ministry warned last week that it is better for pregnant women not to get vaccinated during the first trimester of pregnancy.

The ministry published their recommendations for pregnant women, against the background of the results of recent studies.

According to the recommendations, there is no prohibition against getting vaccinated at all stages of pregnancy.

This position, consistent with both the World Health Organization's approach and the position of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States, is based on the fact that there is no evidence of harm to the fetus or during pregnancy - neither as a result of the vaccine nor a known biological mechanism.

The Ministry of Health also recommends that breastfeeding women get vaccinated.

The ministry clarified that women who are planning to become pregnant or those who are undergoing fertility treatment, it is recommended to complete both doses of the vaccine before pregnancy.

For a woman who received the first dose and then found out she was pregnant, it is recommended to complete the second dose of hesitation according to the usual schedule.
