The cult band Gsindl brings a new CD onto the market.

The texts are completely free of corona - because they were written beforehand.

Landkreis - At a band rehearsal in the summer of 2019, singer Konrad “Kone” Brummer was still certain: “I don't think we'll get it all over again to make a CD.

We're already old sacks ”, recalls bassist Robert“ Bobbel ”Zollner in a press conference and laughs.

Nevertheless, it was the starting signal for the band and with it for “Gsindlsuperdinger”, their latest album.

From November 2019 on, the Bavarian rock band Gsindl, whose members come from the districts of Erding and Ebersberg, recorded twelve songs in the practice room in Neufarn in the municipality of Vaterstetten.

“We found it logical to record the album where the songs were created,” says Zollner.

The timing couldn't have been better.

“When the first lockdown started, everything that we needed several people to do at once was already in place,” recalls Brummer.

So they used the pandemic-related quiet time to mix and master “Gsindlsuperdinger”.

The texts - completely corona-free, because they were written beforehand.

2020 would actually have been a year to celebrate for Gsindl: Exactly 25 years ago they were on stage for the first time, back in February 1995 in Eglharting.

Since then they have played on countless stages and produced albums.

"We don't know for sure whether it's album number seven or eight," says Zollner.

The band doesn't quite agree about a live DVD and an anniversary disc.

That's why “Chapter 7 or 8” is the subtitle on the new album.

The “Gsindlsuperheld” on the cover, a Wolperdinger who unites all the superpowers of the band members, lives in the gully of the band room, reveals Brummer.

Best of all, he can "stink incredibly and drink an incredible amount of beer," adds Zollner.

Gsindl introduced the comic figure on her previous album "Voischattn".

“We probably find the Gsindldinger story funnier than everyone else, but it doesn't matter,” says Zollner and grins, takes a sip of wheat beer.

It was important to the band that no standard photo or abstract work of art became the new cover - that was achieved through “Gsindlsuperdinger”.

Since November 27th you can order the album - exclusively in the form of a CD - on the band's website www.gsindl.de.

The reason for this is that the fans would otherwise miss the booklet and a lot of fun digitally, according to the band.

At the same time, Gsindl hopes to recoup at least part of the production costs in this way.

From February 19th it will be published on all other portals.

“We're not the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but we got the maximum out of our budget,” says Brummer with certainty.

Rock numbers as well as thought-provoking ballads can be found on the CD.

The singer and bassist are particularly proud of the song “Hards Liacht”, which they see as something like their masterpiece.

By the way, the song "A Fest" from the first album got the most hits on the Internet.

Gsindl was not satisfied with its recording quality, which is why it can now be heard in the best quality on the new CD.

What is not possible because of Corona: presenting and celebrating the new album with a big concert.

Brummer calls out to the Gsindl fans: "We're catching up with everything, hold on!"
