Today, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte accused the European Union of preventing supplies of Corona virus vaccines to other countries, stressing that less wealthy countries cannot secure all the vaccines they need.
Reuters quoted Duterte as saying during a televised speech that it is a battle between the highest bidder who can pay the price first.
Duterte added that the problem is related to obtaining supplies in light of the presence of major powers such as the European Union, not only buying doses in huge quantities, but threatening to restrict the export of Coronavirus vaccines, in particular the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The total number of injuries recorded in the Philippines reached more than 527,000, and is among the highest in Asia, while the total deaths reached 10,807.
