With thousands of new functionaries: The primaries for the job list are starting today

Since Michaeli's victory last week in the party leadership election, more than 6,000 new functionaries have joined the work, bringing the number of voters today to about 45,000.
They will choose from 62 candidates who registered to run, including former MKs, councilors and local government officials, veteran and young activists, journalists and intellectuals.
Among the candidates: former Knesset members Amar Bar-Lev and Nachman Shai, former MK Ram Shefa Blue and white), the general manager of the reform movement, Rabbi Gilad Karib, the wife of the left, Emily Moati, the social activists Yitzhak Time and Ivy Benjamin, the director Abtisam Maraana and Adv. According to Michaeli's decision, approved at the party conference last week, the list will be with full gender equality, with the assurance of representing 50% of women in the top ten, which will overcome the primaries' results.

Voting will take place between 19:00 and 11:00, and for the first time will be held completely digitally remotely - by phone or computer and without the need to go to the polls, which is expected to increase the turnout.
The candidates will be sent a remote link through which they will enter the screen where the 62 candidates will be displayed, and from them - they will be required to select 7-5 candidates.
In addition, for the benefit of those who will not succeed or will not want to vote from home, nine polling stations will be set up around the country where a regular vote will take place, which will operate in a purple character format adapted to the corona.
The Labor Party, and the Jewish Home, are the only Jewish parties that have conducted internal democratic procedures for the election of party leaders and their candidates for the Knesset in the 24th Knesset elections, and some of the joint list factions also held internal election procedures.
The Likud and Meretz have decided to cancel the primaries on the pretext of the corona plague, even though the party constitution requires primaries before any Knesset election campaign.
