400 theater people have benefited from the national loan for demobilized people from compulsory and reserve education service to date to start their projects in the governorates of Damascus and its countryside, Aleppo, Lattakia, Tartous, As-Suwayda, Hama and Homs, while working to expand partnerships to include the rest of the governorates.

In a statement to SANA, the director general of the fund, Eng. Luay Al-Aranji, stated that providing loans to the beneficiaries of the program to support and enable demobilized people from military service comes in implementation of the cooperation agreement signed by the fund with the National Microfinance Corporation on the 17th of last August.

Al-Arnaji pointed out to work to expand the fund's partnerships base to provide interest-free loans to those laid off in the rest of the governorates, or to open new branches of the National Microfinance Corporation in the rest of the governorates soon.

The value of the loan ranges between 250 thousand Syrian pounds and 5 million pounds as a maximum without the interest of the laid-offs, while the National Fund pays the full value of the loan interest, which is 10 percent, and the loan repayment period reaches a maximum of 5 years, starting from the date of the first installment, which starts after three months From the date of grant.

It is noteworthy that the program of support and empowerment of those discharged from military service was approved by the Council of Ministers on the tenth of February 2019 and that the laid-offs benefit from those who have spent five years or more in compulsory and reserve military service and those who have been discharged as a result of injury during the war operations, regardless of the length of service and do not receive any full or partial salary.

The Ministry of Social Affairs expanded the target segment of the loan for the year 2021, so in addition to those previously covered, it includes both those demobilized as a result of illness or injury not caused by war operations, regardless of their years of service, and those who have been released because they have become breadwinners “due to the death or death of a brother or any other reason” regardless. For their years of service.

The Ministry also amended the conditions for benefiting from the loan in terms of interest bearing rates for the year 2021, so that the total interest on the loan is 10 percent, the National Fund for Social Aid bears 6 percent of the total loan interest, the theater bears 3 percent, and the National Microfinance Company bears 1 percent of the total loan interest.
