"The president himself has begun to recognize that the road to that destination is probably going to be a multi-step road," says Óscar Chacón, executive director of Alianza Américas, referring to Joe Biden and the ambitious immigration reform promoted by the president .
Chacón adds that a reform of this nature will take a long time given its complexity and the concessions with the Republicans that the government will have to make to reach an agreement.
