90 women were killed in 2020, up from 146 the year before. The Minister of Justice praised the “hopeful” results in the fight against violence against women, although “too modest”.

The Minister of Justice Eric Dupond-Moretti announced on Tuesday February 2 that 90 women had been killed by their spouses or ex-spouses in 2020. A figure that is very much lower than the 146 feminicides recorded by the government in 2019.
