Abtissam Maraana, who was elected in seventh place on the Labor Party's list for the 24th Knesset, has previously posted extreme and controversial posts on her Facebook page, according to a brief browse of her page on the social network.
In November 2020, Maraana, a film director and screenwriter, posted a post in support of Islamic Jihad operative and administrative detainee, Maher al-Ahras, who had been starving for a long time.
In another post in July 2020, Maraana wrote: "Another young man from the Gaza ghetto committed suicide tonight.
There is no hope for despair, the brutal occupation and the oppressive Hamas rule. "
