A police officer opened fire in Tai Po.
Near midnight today (February 3), when a police officer was reportedly intercepting a suspicious private car at Village Road outside Hang Tai House, Fu Hang Estate, Tai Po, the private car was suspected of attempting to rush towards the police officer.
A police officer immediately drew out his gun and fired at the private car successfully to stop it.
When the private car was suspected of evading, it lost control. It crashed into the stone wall of the road and the road sign and the whole car overturned. It was reported that a man tried to escape but was soon overtaken and was arrested on the spot. 1 man and 1 woman in the car were arrested. Trapped and arrested after being rescued.
The case was handed over to the Crime Squad for follow-up.
As the private car overturned, the people in the car were trapped.
The firefighter arrived at the scene to assist in rescuing the trapped people, and ambulancemen were also on guard.
Sources at the scene stated that there were two men and a woman in the car at the time. Some neighbours said they heard police officers yelling "Mi Yu!"

Preliminary information stated that after the incident, a man in the car tried to escape and was chased by police officers to subdue him; the other 1 man and 1 woman were trapped in the car. It is understood that the case is suspected of involving drug dealing.
