In the days when routine has become the most rosy dream of the citizens of Israel, we have the pleasure of contributing our share to the routine of your life.

On July 30, 2007, we broke into your life with the first issue of "Israel Today", a new Israeli newspaper that joined the news world of the State of Israel with reverence.

Those were the days when epidemics were in the movies, and we went to the polls once every few years, not several times a year.

"Israel Today" brought a refreshing innovation to the Israeli press: he was not ashamed to believe in conservative values and was happy to be home to the worldview of many of Israel's citizens.

He was proud of the Jewish tradition, and at the same time showed respect for the faith of the other citizens of the country, Muslims and Christians.

He did not hesitate to call the IDF fighters, in three campaigns in Gaza and one in Lebanon, "our forces", and was not embarrassed to believe in the justice of our way. The "occupation" in other newspapers was our desire to exercise sovereignty over our region.

Our writers come from all political streams, although we did not hide our worldview and were not ashamed to reveal our agenda - yes, we are not from the UN. We are Israelis. And yes, we believe in free distribution - another "crime" that forced us to fight the law several times Shameful that he sought to "limit" us, or actually shut us down - that is, to silence.

But we worked, invested, prospered and very quickly, under the leadership of founding editor Amos Regev, we became leaders, breaking a decades-old monopoly.

We did this solely thanks to you - our loyal readers.

Those who do not hesitate to contact even the editor-in-chief, if by chance the issue has not reached one of the many distribution points.

Last week we won the title of the most popular newspaper in Israel again, and this is not an easy task for a newspaper that is distributed to you during periods of closures and restrictions on movement.

Our challenge is also great creatively, in the days when inspiration is stifled by the corona virus and its mutations.

For print and distribution workers, too, the task is not at all simple.

But we do not take our foot off the pedal, because we have the right to serve you, the great readership of the "Israel Today" family.

The newspaper has many tasks: to provide information, interpretations, interest and other reasons.

But our newspaper, which has the five principles that guide it from day one, is not ashamed to remember and mention: we are first and foremost an Israeli newspaper.

Although Israel is not a geographically large country, it is a complex and colorful mosaic of communities, beliefs, aspirations and thoughts - and we try very hard, as a leading newspaper, to satisfy the curiosity of the Israeli reader and reader wherever they are.

In 13 and a half years of journalism, we have brought you headlines of peace and war, economic crises and successes, protests alongside joys and many elections in Israel and around the world.

We reached out to many different heads of state from all over the world and attached various supplements to our newspaper.

That, too, we understood, not everyone liked - but you loved, and that's what matters.

The days are challenging and the routine has become, as mentioned, a dream.

The challenge of a print newspaper has increased sevenfold.

But the fact that "Israel Today" maintains its status as the most common and leading newspaper in Israel proves that even - and perhaps most importantly - on such days, the newspaper can be the citizen's great friend.

"Israel Today", which smiles at you in almost every corner of the country, has become one.

The 4,000th issue is a testament to perseverance, commitment and most of all the desire to serve you, dear readers.

Without you we would not have succeeded, and this achievement is first and foremost yours.

Thank you, readers.
