There are currently strict entry rules for travelers from Corona risk areas.
Apparently, many airlines do not adhere to the regulations themselves.
The entry rules * to Germany have been tightened steadily in the last few weeks and months - not only increasing numbers of cases in countries worldwide, but the spread of coronavirus mutations are worrying the government.
However, when it comes to scrutiny of these regulations, airlines do not seem to be diligent in their obligations.
This now criticized Dieter Romann, head of the federal police, according to
tagesschau.de
in the "Bild am Sonntag".
“Irresponsible”: 600 infractions by air carriers
“In the last six days alone, the federal police found around 600 violations by air carriers when entering the country by air,” Romann told the newspaper.
Passengers from high incidence or mutation areas have entered
without the digital entry
registration
and / or without a current negative corona test
.
Both would normally have to be checked by the airline before departure.
"That is irresponsible," criticizes Romann.
Because of this negligence, the airlines are now threatened with fines of
up to 25,000 euros
per violation and passenger from the health authorities
.
A lack of controls is also a reason for the entry bans.
Since the weekend, even more extensive entry bans have applied to the virus mutation areas.

Corona crisis: a good tenth of those who return to travel do not adhere to the entry rules
As early as January, the Federal Police Headquarters announced that between November 8 and January 10, a good tenth of those returning to travel would disregard the digital entry registration.
Random checks revealed around 24,540 deficiencies - that makes up
around 13 percent of the travelers checked
.
A missing or incorrectly completed entry registration is considered a defect.
In these cases, the officials deployed must subsequently collect the data.
The obligation to register digitally was introduced in November.
The data is intended to make it easier for health authorities to track chains of infection.
