The High Monitoring Committee of the Arab Public in Israel is considering calling for a non-violent civil uprising of Israeli Arabs.

At the end of an emergency meeting held by the secretariat of the monitoring committee this morning (Wednesday), the committee announced the "examination of the meanings and possibilities" of such a step.

As part of the same civil uprising, the committee is initiating a series of actions and events, such as a nationwide demonstration to be held this coming Saturday in Tamra, condemning the "partnership of the authorities with the rise in crime," and other measures.

According to the committee, the unusual move was considered "in the wake of the severe escalation in crime and violence in Arab society, and more recently also the events of Tamra and Nazareth."

The chairman of the monitoring committee, Muhammad Bracha, told Walla! NEWS that "the state authorities are not attentive to its Arab citizens.

Not only on value issues such as equality and democracy, but not even on their basic right to live. "
