The German health authorities reported 6114 new corona infections to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) within one day.

In addition, 861 new deaths were recorded within 24 hours.

A week ago, the RKI had recorded 6412 new infections and 903 new deaths within 24 hours.

According to the RKI, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants reported within seven days, the seven-day incidence, was 90 on Tuesday morning. Since the start of the pandemic, the RKI has counted 2,228,085 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 in Germany (as of: 02.02., 00.00 a.m.).

The total number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 57,981.

The RKI stated the number of people recovered at around 1,954,000.
