Wolfratshausen

- There's a lot to tell about the Waldram street names.

But first of all only so much that there - probably because of the seminary - many streets are named after church dignitaries.

Dean Franz Xaver Weiß, born in Fürstenfeldbruck in 1853, was pastor in Wolfratshausen from 1885 until his death in 1922. On the occasion of the celebration of his 25th jubilee as a priest, the Markt's magistrate decided on April 2, 1903 to grant him honorary citizenship as the first Wolfratshauser.

From my family history I know the following anecdote about Dean Weiß.

My grandfather drove past him one day with the "oxen", a cart that was pulled by two oxen.

White called up to grandfather: “Where are the three oxen going?” My grandfather replied quickly: “Over on the 4th:” Today it is more relaxed, but back then it was indirectly to the pastor on the street as “oxen” title was daring.

How he reacted is not known.

He probably took it with humor.

The current dean has been Pastor Gehard Beham from Wolfratshausen since 2011.
