Hundreds of Venezuelan migrants arrived in the Colchane commune in Chile this week.
Local authorities estimate the entry of about 1,000 foreigners and say they do not have the resources to control the migratory flow, or to attend to the migrants arriving in the region.
The mayor of Colchane described the situation as a humanitarian crisis, since there are minors among the migrants and asks the federal government and international institutions for help to address the situation.
