Meet the "Bat Woman": UN experts visit the virus laboratory in Wuhan
The World Health Organization delegation arrived at the city's virology institute, where the corona virus was first discovered in 2019, and it met, among other things, an expert in virus hunting among bats.
"Key questions were asked, and answered," said one of the experts on the team, whose visit is under close supervision by Beijing.

A team of researchers from the World Health Organization visiting Wuhan, China, arrived today (Wednesday) at a laboratory in the city, which may provide clues as to the origins of the corona plague.
The visit to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which is under heavy security, lasted about three and a half hours.
The place is at the heart of conspiracy theories that a laboratory leak caused the virus' first outbreak in late 2019 and were also voiced by officials in the administration of former US President Donald Trump.
Peter Dashak, one of the members of the delegation, tweeted that it was a "very important meeting," including with Dr. Shai Zhangli. "There was an honest and open conversation.
Key questions were asked, and answered, "he added. Shai, a well-known virus hunter who deals with corona viruses among bats and has been nicknamed the 'Batwoman', was among the first to detect the virus last year.
Most scientists, including Shay, reject the leak theory from the lab. Some experts have speculated that a virus trapped in the wild may have appeared in laboratory experiments performed to test for human danger, then slipped out through one of the infected staff members.

"It was very interesting, a lot of questions," said Thea Fisher, one of the members of the team of experts, who answered the question of whether the team discovered anything new while visiting the lab, as she left the place after the visit.
Some scientists have called on China to release all samples of corona viruses being studied in the lab to see which one is most similar to SARS-Cob-2, the virus that causes the disease.
The World Health Organization, which is trying to lower expectations from the mission to Wuhan, said the delegation is limited to visits organized by authorities in China and will have no contact with local residents due to health restrictions.
While the virus that ignited the epidemic was first identified in Wuhan, Beijing tried to question the idea it was created in China and pointed to imported frozen food products as a source of global outbreak.
The mission of the staff on the ground will last two weeks, after he has completed two weeks of isolation at a hotel in the city upon arrival.
