Things are getting serious for Tesla due to a problem with the software: The US security agency is forcing the electric car manufacturer to recall well over 100,000 models.

In the past few years that has changed abruptly: The tech company of what is now the richest man in the world has taught the long-established car companies fear.
In the midst of a phase of the great upswing on the stock market, however, there is a setback: The electrical specialist from pioneer Elon Musk * has to recall around 135,000 cars in the USA because of problems with the on-board computer.
The company is responding to a new request from the US traffic safety agency NHTSA, which it published on Tuesday (February 2nd).
That doesn't come as a surprise: Already in December it became known * that the NHTSA was investigating the carmaker from Palo Alto, California, due to quality problems.

The model series Tesla Model S from the production period 2012 to 2018 and the SUV Tesla Model X from the years 2016 to 2018 are affected by the possible defect, which has to be repaired in the workshops not working correctly.
The company has to replace part of the on-board computer for every affected car.
A few weeks ago, Tesla was asked to order 158,000 electric cars to the workshops due to the corresponding problems.
It was not disclosed why the campaign only affects 134,951 models.
The rest of the vehicles have probably been repaired or upgraded to address problems with the MCU (Media Control Unit).
One thing is certain, however: Tesla has one of the largest product recalls in the company's history.

And it will not stop there: In Germany, the KBA has also initiated proceedings against Elon Musk's company because there is a risk of possible security risks from the screens in older models.
A recall is likely to be initiated in this country soon.

In the meantime, the work of multi-billionaire Musk is worth more, at least on the stock exchange, than the competitors of General Motors, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Fiat Chrysler and Europe's largest car company VW put together, despite comparatively low production figures.
