The fourth wave of new-type pneumonia in Hong Kong continued, causing clusters of outbreaks on multiple construction sites such as the Blue Tunnel and the three-run airport, and spread the virus to the community.
Experts advocate testing for all site workers in Hong Kong, otherwise "the downstream area will continue to be closed, and the upstream will continue to work."
"Hong Kong 01" checked the latest statistics from the Census and Statistics Department and found that there are more than 1,600 construction sites and more than 90,000 construction site workers in Hong Kong.
Among them, there were more than 10,000 construction workers in West Page and Outlying Islands, where multiple construction groups had been exposed.
Among the 18 districts, the Sai Kung district has the highest average number of workers, and the Lohas Park and Lam Tin Tunnel sites in Tseung Kwan O both have outbreaks of group infections.

More than 90,000 construction workers in the Islands District and Sai Kung District both exceeded 10,000
There are a total of 94,000 construction workers working in these construction sites in Hong Kong. The Outlying Islands District and Sai Kung District have the largest number of workers, each with more than 10,000 workers.
In the fourth wave of the epidemic, more than one site group broke out in the two areas, including the third runway site of the Hong Kong International Airport in the outlying islands and the east artificial island of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. So far, there have been 20 and 13 cases respectively.
For the Lohas Park and Cheung Lam Tunnels in Sai Kung District, 74 and 79 cases were recorded respectively (Note: Lohas Park group figures include Kai Tak and Tung Tau (2) Village Kwai Tung Building Group; Cheung Lam Tunnel The group includes the number of two outbreaks).
Sai Kung District has the highest average number of workers
The Center for Health Protection pointed out earlier that some construction workers will work on multiple sites at the same time, and the restrooms on the site have been converted into containers. Workers eating and chatting in a crowded environment have the opportunity to spread.
Comparing the average number of people working on sites in different districts, Sai Kung District has the most, with an average of 111 people working on each site, followed by Yuen Long District and Kowloon City District.
